Alta Kilsby

Alta Kilsby, an experienced governance advisor, collaborates with Chief Executives and Boards to rationalise and enhance their governance efficacy and consistently achieve impactful governance outcomes.  She reviews, refines, designs and embeds enduring and innovative governance systems, frameworks, toolkits and supporting practices which are fit for purpose and for the future.  

She has enabled statutory, system, organisational and advisory governance mechanisms across the following sectors in the New Zealand public service:  health, economic development, law enforcement, housing, education, the Treaty sector, statistics and emergency management.  

Her professional background spans both senior governance advisory roles as well as complex and strategic programme management roles.  She has hands-on secretariat experience as well as the ability to shape and deliver strategic governance capability training workshops, implement governance policy and self-reviews and deliver governance improvement programmes which refine and establish best practice governance tools, systems and practices.

Alta has demonstrated expertise in enhancing governance capability for those who govern and those who support governance.  She shares her passion, expertise and knowledge, acquired in the governance industry over the last 20+ years and underpinned by her professional development through the Chartered Governance Institute of New Zealand, to help others excel on their governance journey.
